Chai Lifeline has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I was born with a disability called Spina Bifida, causing nerve damage to my lower body. I was 7 years old when I first went to Camp Simcha Special. For two weeks every summer, I was able to forget that I am different and limited by my abilities, and just enjoy camp with my friends.
Not only were my friends there for me in camp, but during the year as well! Till today, I still keep up with staff members and other campers, and occasionally hang out and have a good time, putting our disabilities aside!
14 years later, I can definitely say whole-heartedly that I would not be who I am today without the love of all my friends at Chai Lifeline!
Among my friends at Camp Simcha Special were two very special people, Chani Abramson A"H, and Chaya Suri Wajnstock A"H.
They were both very dear to me. I remember them smiling all the time, no matter what challenges were thrown their way.
I can't think of a better way to keep the memory of these special neshamos (souls) alive than to raise money for Chai Lifeline and allow other children just like us have the amazing opportunity to smile, and to simply be a kid!
Thank you!
