This summer, I am excited to take part in Tour de Simcha, an exhilarating 65-mile cycling event that added a 10K run option this year benefiting the children and families of Chai Lifeline. Every mile I ride and every dollar I raise will help support more than two-dozen essential programs for more than 5,900 children and families confronting pediatric illness, crisis, and loss. These critical services include counseling and case management, meals delivered to hospitals and homes, transportation to medical appointments, emergency financial assistance, insurance advocacy, i-Shine afterschool programming, Big Brothers/Sisters, trauma and crisis intervention, and Camp Simcha, Camp Simcha Special, and Camp Simcha Without Borders, Chai Lifeline’s flagship summer programs for children with life-threatening and lifelong illnesses. My amazing daughter Shirah has been a Camp Simcha camper for the past few years and her time at Camp Simcha has been the most magical of her life. She looks forward to Camp Simcha every year as it is a time when she feels totally supported and special. She is able to have a summer camp experience due to the unbelievable medical care and support Camp Simcha offers. Chai Lifeline as a whole has supported us as a family since Shirah was born through every hospitalization, diagnosis process, and beyond, Chai Lifeline has been there for us.
