Riding in honor of my beautiful granddaughter Zahava!

My dear granddaughter Zahava has spent the past 5 years dealing with a malformation in her right foot called a Arteriovenous malformation. (AVM) This is a very rare defect that 18 in 1 million are born with.

After many years of living in pain and having constant loss of blood supply to her foot the decision was made in December 2022 that for her to have the quality of life that she could, the team of doctors felt that it was best to amputate her right foot below her knee. On 1/4/2023 Zahava underwent this amputation.

Zahava went through this surgery and rehabilitation with incredible strength and courage. She now is walking with a prosthetic and living a much happier life. The surgery was not the cure for this horrible disease as there is an almost 80% chance of recurrence of an AVM in her leg. She is currently undergoing Immunotherapy for 6 months targeted at preventing this from happening.

She has received her permanent prosthetic and is now walking, riding a bike, jumping on trampolines and is wanting to run in the Chai life line marathon in Miami in January. She is truly an inspiration and does all her therapy with a smile!!!

Chai lifeline has been there for Zahava every step of the way. They have been there with Big sisters to take her and give her special time, She has been attending Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha without Borders. They have provided incredible support to her siblings and parents. They provided the family with meals during her surgery and hospitalization and at any time of need. The list continues to grow with all that Chai lifeline has done for her and her entire family!

I am riding in Tour De Simcha this year in honor of Zahava and all the Chai Lifeline children & families who have received support from this organization. I feel that this is one small thing that I can do to help an organization who has truly been there for Zahava and her family.

My objective is to raise $4000  and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Please contribute generously to this important cause by clicking on the donate button now.
On behalf of Zahava and all of the children of Chai Lifeline, thank you for your support!
